TAD26: Random concentric star thing

Tad26-random-concentric-star-t

Today I had absolutely no inspiration, so I did that thing a person can do when they don't have any ideas but do have access to Photoshop.  I took a random digital photo (in this case of the purple grape juice dregs at the bottom of a pint glass), and just started playing around with it.  I mainly used different selections to create new layers from the background and then invert them or change the hue.  I then added a few adjustment layers and used various sized paint brushes to add patterns into those.  It's sort of a silly project, but at least it got me doing something today.

And now, far too much later, I'm hopefully finally able to post the thing.  Stupid internet problems!

TAD23: Hermit Bear Shrew

So, a friend requested that one of my little animal drawings be of a snail, and while attempting to draw a snail, I ended up with this weird looking guy.  Based on its various features, it's clearly an example of the rare Hermit Bear Shrew family, known to be shy and elusive, and rarely documented in the wild.  Textures include photos of fabric, paper with pencil marks, and abalone shell.

TAD16: Sleepy rodent and strange fish

An adorable sleeping mouse-type creature, plus a fish drawing I did a long time ago on my table at work and then photographed.  Today's contribution was extracting it from its background.  Posted a day late because I keep having issues with my computer not wanting to connect to the internet.
